Bremer Island Banubanu Beach Retreat offers an escape from the hustle of modern life. Nestled in the north east coves of Bremer Island (known to the locals as Dhambaliya), in Yolngu Sea Country, our maximum of 16 guests enjoy the space and freedom of finding their own island paradise.
The retreat is a unique eco beach retreat like no other. It’s simplicity is its appeal. Guests have the option to participate in an array of highly engaging tours that include traditional Yolngu hunting and cultural tours, a bluewater fishing charter, self guided walking trails, beach fishing and turtle watching.
Through a fishing tour you will be exposed to some of the most abundant and picturesque fishing grounds in the area. Catch your dinner and enjoy your very own fisherman’s basket. Be a part of a world class bird and turtle watching experience and explore the untouched strip of coastline providing exquisite views.
An array of accommodation options are available, to enable you to relax and enjoy this pristine and spectacular island hideaway. To enhance the ultimate camping experience, twin share tents include two jumbo single camp beds, linen and fans. The beach house and Hide Away Cabin caters comfortably for two people. Three deluxe beachfront eco tents are hot property being just metres from the beach and also include a private deck and en-suite.
Guests share the dining experience and have a common area to relax, unwind and share stories (or just enjoy a good book from our collection). Guests are invited to chill out in the recreational area with a book or chat with Helen and Trevor the owners and your hosts about the history of Bremer Island. The facilities are simple so that guests can appreciate beach living and being close to nature.
