Maruku Arts operates specialised tours of Aboriginal art and culture at Uluru. Hands-on workshops conducted by local practitioners introduce participants to the richness of Anangu culture and a chance to purchase outstanding art and craft – an unforgettable experience.
Established in 1984, Maruku Arts is owned by the cultural custodians who occupy the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara & Yankunytjatjara Lands of Central Australia.
With Uluru as the centrepoint, their homelands are as big as Sweden. This not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation celebrates the art and culture of the Anangu - Traditional Owners of these lands. Tours provide authentic cultural experiences in a range of individual and group options on public and private tours.
Take part in creative workshops - dot painting and punu-making (traditional wood carving), cultural tours, and inma (ceremonial song and dance) and enjoy a first-hand experience of Anangu art and culture.
The Cultural Centre inside Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park showcases the Maruku Arts Gallery, while a market stall at the town centre in Yulara, and multiple locations for tours, offer many opportunities to engage with authentic local storytelling in art, craft, dance and song. Join us and feel the strength of this unique desert culture.
