Yellow Water Cruise
A Yellow Water cruise is a ‘must do’ experience when visiting Kakadu. This beautiful billabong is home to remarkable scenery and wildlife (60 species of birds, plenty of crocodiles and buffalo on the floodplains). Bininj guides provide fascinating insights on the flora and fauna. The 6:45am cruise includes breakfast.

Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre
Developed by the Aboriginal Traditional Owners of Kakadu, Warradjan is located just 1km from Cooinda Lodge Kakadu. Named after Warradjan, the Pig Nosed Turtle, the Centre offers a remarkable insight into the Aboriginal people who have lived in Kakadu for thousands of years. The displays include artefacts that illustrate the stories that the Traditional Owners wish to share with visitors. The Centre mixes contemporary techniques – such as videos – to cover various subjects, ranging from personal histories to bush tucker. The gallery shop sells a range of arts and crafts including traditional Didgeridoos local artwork, books and cards.

Kakadu can be accessed via Darwin. From Darwin hire a car or travel by coach to Jabiru, which is located in Kakadu and is 255kms from Darwin (about a 3 hours drive). It’s a further 54kms to Gagudju Lodge Cooinda (no buses travel from Darwin to Cooinda).
